The operation encompasses a vast network of tailings storage facilities (TSFs) that have accumulated from decades of mining activity in the region.DRDGOLD utilizes advanced technology to reclaim and process these tailings, extracting remaining gold while also rehabilitating the land, helping to reduce environmental risks such as acid mine drainage. In addition to the Ergo Operations, DRDGOLD owns and operates the Far West Gold Recoveries project. Located near Carletonville, this project focuses on recovering gold from the tailings of historic mining activities in the area.FWGR significantly expands DRDGOLD’s footprint in tailings reprocess- ing, providing the company with access to an additional resource base and increasing production capacity.
