The Butcherbird Manganese Project is Element 25’s flagship asset and one of Australia’s largest onshore manganese resources. Located in the Pilbara region, Butcherbird is ideally situated to take advantage of Western Australia’s mining−friendly regulatory environment and infrastructure. The project has significant reserves of manganese ore, which is essential for steel production and, more recently, lithium−ion battery cathodes. The Butcherbird project commenced production in 2021, with Element 25 focusing initially on producing manganese concentrate for traditional mar- kets such as steelmaking. However, the company has plans to expand into the production of high−purity manganese sulfate, which is required for EV batter- ies. This will allow Element 25 to tap into the rapidly growing EV market and capitalize on the increasing demand for battery−grade manganese.
