Entree Resources has evolved from a junior exploration company into a key player in the mining industry, primarily through its involvement in the Oyu Tolgoi project. The company initially focused on exploring and acquiring mineral properties in North America, but its strategic move into Mongolia’s South Gobi region has defined its growth trajectory and future prospects. Entree Resources’ relationship with the Oyu Tolgoi project began in 2004 when it entered into an earn−in agreement with Ivanhoe Mines (now Tur− quoise Hill Resources), granting it a significant interest in the project. This agreement has positioned Entree as a strategic partner in one of the world’s most significant mining developments. Entree Resources’ principal asset is its interest in the Oyu Tolgoi project, which is jointly owned by the Mongolian government, Turquoise Hill Re− sources, and Rio Tinto, one of the world’s largest mining companies. Entree’s interest is specifically in the Entree/Oyu Tolgoi joint venture (JV) property, which includes two key deposits: Hugo North Extension and Heruga.
